Our New Car
We are so excited that we had the opportunity to purchase our first car. We literally searched for weeks. And we researched as much as we could.
1. First we narrowed down what our long term goal was with the car.
We decided that this would be my car. That the car would be something that we kept for a long time. We want to start a family in the next couple years. And so we decided that we wanted a mid size SUV that got good gas mileage.
2. We then searched all the cars in that category. We narrowed it down to 4 cars. We researched those cars. And we looked at what was in the area that was also in our budget.
3. Then we went and test drove all the cars that we thought might work. This is what really narrowed it down for us.
4. Once we decided on the car we wanted we test drove it. And then we read all the consumer reports. They have them at the library. And we then researched all the car facts. We felt that we knew everything about the car that we could.
We then checked what insurance would be. And then went and got pre approved for loans so we knew we got the lowest interest rate. Finally we signed all the papers and drive away with our new car. The salesman gave us each a ballon. No, we are not expecting. Everyone who see's this pictures things that is what we are trying to announce. Ha
We were super lucky to get to pick Elder Mattice up and take him to lunch and then the MTC. Flying from AZ to UT was his first time on a plane. We was so calm, I would have been so nervous. We took him to Slab Pizza and told him all we know about IA and his mission. He is going to the same mission that Elder Lords is in. We are so excited for them both. Safe to say IA has our heart for sure. As we took Elder Mattice to the MTC it was completely different than when we took Elder Lords. Elder Mattice was so calm and so excited. Elder Lords had his whole family in tears. We are proud of both elders and can't wait to see the men they become. Safe to say IA is in our prayers.
For Labor day we decided to head to Idaho. With us both starting school we knew it wouldn't be easy to go out of town. Plus we were excited to go to Idaho in the new car. Taking the truck costed $120 round trip. The car was about $50. We didn't complain. My mom set up for us all to go to Jackson Hole, WY on saturday. We were excited because Triston has never been. We went to Jennys lake and then walked around the town. Of course we had to go to Shayla's favorite candy store and get some gummy candies. We ended the night at Bar J Wranglers. If you have never been you have to go. We always have a blast. Thanks family for the fun weekend.
Yesterday was Shay's 17th birthday. Where is the world has time gone? For 8 years she was my baby sister. I can't believe she is 17. She talks about college and it blows my mind she is as old as she is. I look up to her in so many ways. I think back to when she hurt her shoulder and was told that she would never cheer again. I think back to when I was her age. I thought it was the end of the world when I had to get my tonsils out and miss a week of cheer. She lost her passion and love. And she has handled it way better than I would have. She has moved her passion to other things and is happy. She was a huge help in our wedding and even did my hair. She is so talented and I wish I was as talented as her. Happy Birthday baby sis!!
