Our Story- As told by Rachael

How it all started...

This past fall semester I lived at the Willows and I met Hannah. When I met her I didn't think that we would be the friends we are today. Hannah came to Rexburg from Camas, WA for her first semester of college. She was almost engaged to her now husband Matt Lee. She also didn't expect to make a life long friend.
I feel like I was in a place where I needed Hannah. We have so much in common. We slowly started doing everything together. There were situations going on in our apartment that defiantly brought us together. We started working out everyday together( Hannah's wedding was approaching)  we started going to the temple every week together. And I let Hannah practice her homemaking skills on me. :) When Matt came to visit I went on dates with them. As I became close with her and Matt they both decided they wanted to set me up with some of Matts friends.
One set up failed and I was bummed. But that broken road turned into the best thing that has happened. Matt had a roomate named Triston who was actually Matts trainer on their mission in  Montana. Triston was just getting out of a serious relationship( another broken road blessed by God) and wasn't sure if he was ready to move on. So I continued to be the third wheel with Matt and Hannah and we had a blast. About a month later Triston went to Matt and told him he was ready to date, and was interested in getting to know me. Matt and Triston lived in Provo and were attending BYU and Hannah and I lived in Rexburg and were attending BYUI. So we planned a weekend with our roommates to go to Utah and have a "girls weekend". We decided it would be fun to meet up with Matt and all his roommates and have dinner and hang out.
So the night came and I was super excited. We spend the day shopping at City Creek Center in Salt Lake. So Matts roommates came and met up with us there. Matt and Hannah had worked it out that Triston would sit at our table close to me so that they could have us meet. When Triston came in I hate to say, but it wasn't love at first sight. I was attracted to him though. And the one thing that I noticed right off is that he was very friendly to the waiter. He took the time to get to know me. He reminded me a lot of my dad.
After dinner we decided to go to Hannah's grandma's where we were staying and watch a movie. We decided on White House Down. When we were all just sitting around and chatting he came and sat next to me. But when we started the movie I decided to go change into sweats. If you know me you know that I love love sweats. And I figured hey I am going to be me from the beginning. So I went and changed and when I came back I didn't want to come off too interested so I sat across the room. I didn't make it through much of the movie. I fell asleep about 15 minutes in. Hey another thing that hasn't changed much in our relationship. We had been talking before the movie and I found out that we was giving a talk in church the next day. I told him we would have to come. So when I feel asleep he didn't want to wake me and knew I would be in church the next day so didn't bother waking me to tell me bye.
Well the next day we weren't able to go to church with the boys. One of our roommates needed to get home. He ended up asking Matt for my number so he could tell me bye and that it was nice to meet me. He didn't know if we would be more than good friends but he knew we had a lot in common. And we talked everyday.
Hannah and I decided to go to Utah for her bridal shower that Matt's sisters put on. And we thought that would be a perfect opportunity for Triston and I to go on a date. So I let Triston know I would be in Utah and he took the hint and asked me out. We had such a fun date. It was so easy for us to talk. He ended up telling me about every one of his ex girlfriends. Yes, on our first date. Safe to say he opened up quickly. I loved that I could give him a hard time and we would give it right back. He took me to temple square in Salt Lake to look at the Christmas lights and we met up with Matt and Hannah.  The perfect first date.
We kept talking. I fell more and more in love with him everyday. We remained friends because I was in Rexburg and he was in Provo.
During Christmas break Triston went to AZ and we talked even more than we normally had. We were both going on dates with other people but on New Years Eve Triston told me his feelings and I told him mine. On New Years day Triston and I decided to make it official and only date each other.
As we dating we fell in love fast. We were doing the long distance thing but still seeing each other every weekend. When Triston came to Rexburg he stayed with us at my parents house. As quick as I fell in love with him my family did was well. He fit in from the beginning.
On Valentines day Triston asked me to be is wife. That was one of the best days of my life. I couldn't believe that after one month of dating I knew I needed marry Triston. We decided to be married on May 30, 2014. It was another best day of my life. It was everything I  imaged and more. I am so grateful that I was able to be sealed to my best friend and that we get to be together forever. Not only am I lucky to marry such a great man, but I am lucky to inherit the most amazing in laws. I have to say I now have the cutest nieces ever. And I have always wanted older sisters. And my new sister in laws are the best I could have wished for.
