Christmas 2014

Christmas

I know, I know its the end of Jan. But with work and school and all we have going on I finally made time. My dad always says don't use the excuse you don't have time. Because he says you make the time for the things you want to do. Another Coach Lords theory. I am sure a lot of his past players have a whole list of those. Anyways this year since we spent Thanksgiving with my family we went to AZ to spend Christmas with Tristons. We were super excited because we hadn't seen most of his family since our visit in July.

We were super lucky because we got to vacation for 2 weeks. The Saturday we got to AZ we went to Heber to Tiana's/ Tristons nephews baptism. Trevor  (who was also one of Triston's groomsmen) was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. "Uncle" Triston said the opening prayer. Trevor was super excited we got to come. It was fun we also saw a Missionary from Rexburg there as well. Elder Jacksons mom works with my dad and I grew up with his sister. I sent his family this picture. And I hope someday someone we know ends up in Iowa and send us a pic of Elder Lords.

Payslee and Kail our neices rode with us to Heber. It was fun to stick both car seats in our back seat. Because we bought the car hoping to fit a couple car seats in there someday... Epic fail. Two in the back is the max.

Triston also had a fun oppertunty to ortain his cousin Dakota an Elder. We are so proud of him and his decision to serve the Lord. He just turned in his papers. I hope he gets called to Iowa. :) Him and Elder Lords get along well. :) We can't wait for Dakota to come visit us. We love having him around.

Ross and Tiana and the kids had to go back because Ross had to work. Triston's dad also had to work for a couple days. So Triston and I spent a couple days with Tashina and Dakota. We loved just relaxing. It was warm at the beginning of the trip and we were even able to go out running. We spent a day in Flagstaff with Tashina and Terril we went shopping and to the movie Unbroken. Which is a must see.

As you can see Triston took full advantage of the chance to not shave.

We had a totally different Christmas than I am used to. I always see lots of family and spend lots of time at my grandparents houses. We went and saw Tristons Grandap Rogers. But other than that we just relaxed and it was nice. I did miss my family but it wasn't as hard as I thought becuase I have super great in laws. We got to skype with Elder Lords that morning and it was the best Christmas present ever. He is doing amaizng, he is working so hard. And we couldn't be more proud of him. We got spoil by both of our families. Triston got snowboard gear. And my mother in law made me the cutest blanket from all my cheer stuff. I should have taken more pictures but those are the only presents we got pictures of.

We headed to Pima where Tiana and Ross live for a weekend. We needed more time with the girls! Ross had been working days so Trison told him he would put together the play house that papa Terril got for the girls. When he got it out of the box we realized how big of a job it really was. It had like over 100 pieces. So when Tiana and I saw it might take him a while we decided to go shopping and let him do his thing. We came back and he was almost done. It took around 2.5 hours. It is so detailed and the girls love it. What a good uncle huh?

After our visit with the girls with went to Glendale to check out a PA school that Triston is going to apply to. We loved it. The school was super nice. The area was nice. And we could see ourselves there for sure. We ended our AZ state tour back at Tristons dads for the week before we headed home. We got to spend a lot of time with Grandpa Rogers and he wanted to take me out to the Ranch because I had never been there. It was beautiful and I loved it. He is an amazing man. And we loved hearing his stories!

And that sum's up our Chirstmas trip. I am so lucky to have the in laws I do. I have always felt part of the family and for that I am grateful. I felt so lucky this Christmas for all that I have. Not just for friends and family but also for the birth of our Savior. Merry Late Christmas.
